Monasteries

Built in a position commanding a panoramic view, the monastery of Taxiarhes near Agios Georgios Nileias is a women-only monastery, founded in 1976. The monastery was recently renovated by its inhabitants.

On the upper part of the Agia Triada hill stands the castle-like monastery of Agia Triada, part of the Athonite “Megistis Lavras” monastery. The monastery was recently fundamentally renovated by its inhabitants, who provide significant social services in the community.
