One of the most historical country churches in the region is that of

Agia Triada in Milies,

on the road to Tsagarada, set amidst beautiful scenery, beneath towering trees.

It was from this church that Konstandinos Garefis began his struggle to free Macedonia, and every Monday of the Holy Spirit, a commemorative ceremony is organised.

Another picturesque country church is that of Saint Athanasius, situated on the hill between Kala Nera and Pinakates. On May 2nd each year, a feast takes place in honour of the relic of the Saint.

Moutzouris , Der Zug For over a century, the famous Pelion train has been part of the history of the place. From July 2, 1903, the train “mountzouris” made his journey, a daily struggle to climb from Volos to Pelion, carrying people and goods and contributing decisively to the development of the region. Beaches Apart from Kala Nera, the coast line of the municipality of Milies consists of four more beaches.
